I’m saying it’s the best Udon soup, even though I’m far from being an expert on Asian cuisine. I had some here and there, mostly on vacations, in Berlin or Brussels. In Berlin, for example, everybody loves Cocolo Ramen. People line up for miles and sit at crowded tables, with people they don’t know, for a bowl of Ramen. Impressive. Well, that’s not the case with AI Sushi bar. And that’s a good thing!
So, again, I’m not a professional on Asian food, but Mimi is. This is what makes her the expert here. This and her signature hairstyles, which you can see on almost every girl working in advertising in Bucharest. Mimi is a hairstylist and big fan of Udon soup. On top of that, she works really close to AI, so I asked her to have lunch together. Meeting her also made me realize that I need to cut my bangs soon. :)

But anyway, back to our soups - AI is right in Dorobanti Square, in the semi-basement of a very short building. The place is very bright, as all the outside walls are made of glass. The atmosphere is super relaxed - the place is not very fancy, as other sushi restaurants usually are.
I need to also tell you a bit more about my relationship with Asian soups. Whenever I eat Ramen or Udon, I’m not very excited in the beginning. It’s like my taste buds need to get in the mood for it. However, by the end, I’m ecstatic! This being said, the Udon soup from AI actually impressed me from the very beginning! It’s really very good, the perfect size (for a girl) and is very wholesome. I loved the tempura spicy seaweed, which was cooked juuuust right. But I’d like to also invite the Asian food experts to verify my take on the Udon soup. How much is this small wonder? Only 22 lei.

The AI menu sounds attractive for sushi lovers, with a very wide selection. I didn’t taste the sushi yet, but Mimi says it’s very good. Apart from the soup, I wanted to get something extra, so I asked the guy who was serving us how much it would take to bring me some spring rolls. He replied inquisitively – "2-3 minutes?". And he wasn’t kidding! :)

So bonus points for the very quick service, no matter the order. Oh, maybe as a deal breaker – the toilet is smaller than anybody could have imagined. Maybe it’s because the initial space didn’t have such a room? It’s ok, I will let them off the hook for this.
